The reason iCare exists is simple: insurance shouldn't be the part of your financial life that feels the most aggressive. These six principles, and a four-step process, are what 'done with care' actually looks like.

Independent, by design

iCare is not aligned with one insurer. I review the major NZ providers — Partners Life, AIA, Asteron, Chubb, nib, Southern Cross — and recommend whichever genuinely fits.

Every recommendation, every clause that matters, is available in both English and 中文. Most of my clients live between two languages — money decisions shouldn't be the place that breaks down.

Slow, never rushed

First conversations are 30 minutes minimum. We don't sign anything in the first session. You get time to read, think, and ask the questions that occur to you the next morning.

Care after the policy

Annual reviews, life-stage updates, and claim support are part of the relationship — not extras you have to chase. The relationship is the product.

How I'm paid, who I'm licensed by, how complaints are handled — all written in our Disclosure Statement, available before any product is suggested.

We say 'don't change anything' when that's the answer

Sometimes the existing policy is fine. Sometimes you don't need that extra cover the bank pushed. The honest answer matters more than a sale.

The process

From first chat to signed policy: usually 2–3 weeks.

Every step is paced around you. If you need a week to think between stages, you take a week. There's no commission clock that beats faster than your decision.

    30-minute discovery

    Phone, video, or Auckland in-person. We map your dependants, debts, and the gaps that would actually hurt.

  2. 02

    Tailored comparison

    Within 5–7 days, three options across two or three insurers, with the trade-offs in plain language and a printable summary.

  3. 03

    Underwriting & medicals

    I sit with you through any medical disclosures, GP report requests, and underwriting questions, in EN or 中文.

  4. 04

    Sign-off & review

    Once you decide, we lock it in. I follow up at 30 days, then annually — plus any time your life changes (baby, mortgage, business).
